#1 Demo Day of »Summer Camp 2018«

What is the Summer Camp?

The »Summer Camp« is a highly intensive two and a half week program. It uses various elements from accelerator formats. The 20 participants developed or further developed their business idea in the Summer Camp. Then, alone and in teams concepts and pitch decks were worked out and there was Pitchtraining. During this time the participants had strong support from 50 mentors, coaches and designers from the Ignore Gravity Network. As Premium Partner, She's Mercedes has been highly involved in program design, mentoring, jury and more.

Demo Day

Demo Day took place on the 20th of July at the »Kunstgewerbemuseum der Staatlichen Museen zu Berlin«. Here, the 8 newly formed startups presented their concepts to a top-class jury with representatives from companies, start-up scene and media as well as 160+ invited guests from start-up scene, economy, media and politics. Demo Day was hosted by Nathalie Sonne, Ignore Gravity Partner and Head of Program at Ignore Gravity's leAD Sports Accelerator. After the pitches, two top-level keynote speakers shared insights around female entrepreneurship: Former Federal Minister of Economics, Brigitte Zypries, spoke about the political challenges and opportunities and held a plea for the economic benefits of supporting aspiring female founders. Afterwards, Dr. Sophie Chung, Founder of Qunomedical, shared her own experience of becoming one of Europe's most successful founders while happening to be a woman.
