City Accelerator Bremen

At the end of an exciting learning expedition with Stadtwerke Bremen into the world of startups and entrepreneurs in the energy sector, there was a far-reaching decision by the swb management team: To maintain their successful position in the market, they would need an accelerator of their own in Bremen; and they asked Ignore Gravity to support them in building it.

After a year of work, there is a new “kraftwerk” (power plant) in town to shape the “Energiewende” (energy transition): the kraftwerk – City Accelerator Bremen, a place for entrepreneurs, founders and start-up teams that are dedicated to shaping the infrastructure of the cities of tomorrow.

The focal points of kraftwerk are energy, transportation, disposal/recycling and participation. However, kraftwerk is more than just an accelerator program: In addition to the co-working space for creatives and founders, it offers the joint use of the adjacent Fab and Mobile Game Labs, an exclusive network of experts, and the potential for joint projects between the partners involved.
