Transforming Cities

North German utility Stadtwerke Bremen Erzeugung city accelerator program Kraftwerk is approaching its second edition. To select the next round of participants, 12 startups go the chance to pitch their business idea in front of a jury of renowned experts from partner companies, universities, different business areas and sponsor Mercedes-Benz.

The tech trophy was awarded to GEOLUMEN, a real-time IoT infrastructure that turns lights into a smart city platform. The Italian startup provides a wireless network of smart lights for large open spaces (outdoor & indoor), to enable remote control, failure detection and dimming together with location-based services like energy saving, safety, security, parking management and environmental monitoring. The day after the award ceremony was dedicated to further talks with the most promising startups regarding a potential enrollment in the second edition of the accelerator program.
