We are excited to announce, that we will host the first Bio-Economy Makeathon for innovations in the field of urban bio-economy. As part of the 9th German Sustainability Award for research on urban bio-economy, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research is awarding innovative ideas, that will be developed in the virtual Makeathon.

During 2 days, 80 scientists will work on problem definitions, new ideas and concepts in order to develop new projects and business ideas in areas such as circular economy, urban farming and sustainable construction. The entire Makeathon, as well as the accompanying satellite events, will take place virtually. We will prepare all participants during satellite events in order to be able work with their teams in the digital environment. In a multi-stage process, our coaches will guide the teams through several sprint sessions, reflections, mentoring and social elements such as energizers and a virtual expert dinner. An independent jury of industry experts will select 3 innovations to be nominated for the German Sustainability Award.

In this project we are able to combine many years of experience in the conceptualisation and execution of idea labs, innovation camps and hackathons with our expertise in hosting events, workshops, summits and conferences online, which we have increased significantly over the past 3 months.

We are looking forward to this outstanding project and even more to the ideas, innovations and concepts that will make our cities and communities more sustainable.
