Cultural transformation for Daimler AG.
WHY
The Daimler AG is facing a massive transformation. They have to get ready for a digital, electric and emission free future of mobility and further drive their current business at the same time. In order to do that, they identified the need for a cultural transformation. This is why a global team of 200 contributors across hierarchies and functions developed the Leadership 2020 programme.
HOW
As a central element of the programme, the Leadership 2020 team identified eight new leadership principles with the aim to define and establish a new way for people to lead, communicate and work together at Daimler. But how do we make 30.000 managers und 270.000 employees aware of these principles? The question is not merely about how we educate and train so many, but how we win their commitment and support and how we encourage them to change the way they think, work and behave.
WHAT
ignore gravity came on board to support the global roll-out of Leadership 2020. We partnered with the Leadership 2020 team to develop a digital learning application, an implementation strategy and a communication plan. With a dedicated learning journey for each leadership principal, the application provided inspiration, tutorials, cases and exercises. It provided clear guidance for the usage and implementation of the leadership principles. It also created an experience which offered an understanding that helped to make the transformation accessible. It was thus a valuable experience for all employees and leaders, from the board to the assembly line.
